Cheers to a Year of Blogging!

A lot can change in a years time…

As I sit down to write this blog post, I’m filled with a whirlwind of emotions. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since I embarked on this blogging journey. In the span of just twelve months, my life has taken me on a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. There were lots of challenges and triumphs. From coping with abrupt loss to embracing new beginnings… And from navigating a foreign land to welcoming a new addition to our family… This past year has been nothing short of extraordinary!

The journey began with a heart-wrenching loss that shook my family to its core. We lost a beloved member, my baby brother in law, Aaron Chavez and the grief weighed heavy on our hearts. It was a time of sorrow and reflection, a period when we leaned on each other for support and strength. In the midst of our mourning, we were preparing for our move across the world to South Korea. All due to my husband’s career change within the United States Space Force, I couldn’t be more proud and grateful.

Moving halfway across the globe was no small feat. It meant leaving behind the comforts of home, saying goodbye to friends and family, and diving headfirst into the unknown. But it was also an opportunity for growth and adventure! A chance to immerse ourselves in a new culture and embrace new experiences. I see it as a new season in our lives with all the different changes happening all at once.

Settling into life in South Korea wasn’t easy. There were language barriers to overcome which we’re still working on. And customs to learn have been an experience in itself to say the least. Just a whole new way of life to adjust to that has a lot to do with walking everywhere. But through perseverance and determination, we gradually found our footing and began to build our community in this foreign land.

One of the ways I sought to connect with others and share my experiences was through volunteer work. I also found comfort in my blog. It became a platform for me to document our journey, share insights, and connect with like-minded individuals around the world. As I poured my heart into my writing, I discovered a sense of purpose… Found fulfillment that I had never known before.

But it wasn’t just through writing that I found my voice. I also learned to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new challenges. One such challenge was diving into the world of YouTube. It was a thrilling and sometimes nerve-wracking experience. It pushed me to grow and evolve as both a content creator and a person. Another was just being consistent with my Instagram and sharing all my soft, glorious moments I get to experience everyday.

Amidst all the changes and challenges, there was one constant source of joy and inspiration: the impending arrival of our baby girl. The news of her upcoming arrival filled our hearts with hope and excitement, and as the months passed, we eagerly anticipated her arrival.

And then, on a beautiful day in spring, she finally made her grand entrance into the world. Holding her in my arms for the first time, I was overcome with a profound sense of gratitude and love. In that moment, all the hardships and struggles of the past year faded away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of joy and contentment.

As I look back on the past year, I’m filled with a deep sense of gratitude for the journey that has brought me to this moment. From loss to love, from fear to courage, each twist and turn has shaped me in ways I never could have imagined. And as I look ahead to the future, I do so with optimism and excitement, knowing that whatever challenges may come my way, I have the strength and resilience to overcome them.

So here’s to one year of blogging, and to many more years of growth, learning, and adventure. Thank you to all who have joined me on this journey. Here’s to the next chapter, whatever it may bring!

With all the Love,

AMBER LINDSAY MAR
